3 Tips for Organizing with Repurposed Items

At Mod WeBe, our goal is to help home decorators, and enthusiasts discover sustainable home décor ideas. We want to reduce the negative impact we have had on our environment, and improve the health of our planet, and we believe we can do that without sacrificing our style or personal flair. Part of building sustainable home décor is helping home decorators discover new ways to use old items.

We do this by creating customized furniture and refurbishing furniture, but there are also amazing tips and trips that we have picked up along the way by helping our customers with their interior decoration and design. We have many years of experience working with clients helping them find more sustainable ways of living, and here are some quick things you can do today to organize your home, with a flair for design, using repurposed items.

Tip #1: Don’t Throw That Nightstand or Dresser Away!

We know, it’s all beat up, and the drawers stick, and you can’t really use it as a dresser anymore. But you can use it as shelving on the wall! Simply take the drawers out, paint the outside, then lay some nice wallpaper on the inside of the drawer, then hang it on the wall so that you are looking at the inside of the drawer. Step it up a notch by using the bottom of the drawer to display some great family photos, and you can still use the drawer as a shelf on the wall.

Tip #2: Repurpose the Old Wine Rack in a New Way.

There are items that you just don’t throw away. An old wine rack is one of those things, you may be tempted to though, because the style can be more traditional and less modern. If you are feeling like your wine rack is part of the past, that’s okay, it can be refurbished and used to hang so many other items! Try using it to store your umbrellas for a nice pop of color, or towels in the bathroom for a charming look. As always if you have pieces you don’t want to throw away, but you aren’t sure what to do with them, visit us at www.modwebe.com and schedule some time with us and we’ll help you figure it out.

Tip #3: Replacing your Curtains? Don’t Throw Away Those Old Tension Rods.

The true idea behind repurposing isn’t to go out and buy new items that clutter up your home. It is to take items that you would otherwise throw away and use those items in new ways. Especially if you are trying to organize your new and stylish way. If you are replacing the curtains in your home, then don’t throw away your old tension rods. These ingenious inventions can help organize your space; you can use them inside your kitchen cabinets to create a new shelf. This is especially handy for places in your pantry where you store your spices or cans. Oftentimes the cans or spices go on the shelf, and there’s room to stack 2 or even 3 more on top of them. If you use tension rods to create shelving inside your pantry or kitchen cabinets, then you can stack your cans or spices in a more organized way. No matter what, you can count on the experts at Mod WeBe to help you figure it out. Check us out today. Precious You… Precious Homes… at Mod WeBe.
